2023 Northwest Washington Construction Career Day

An Interactive High School Career Event for the Construction Industry

Northwest Washington Construction Career Day 2023 seeks to
introduce and inspire high school students from Whatcom, Skagit, and
Island counties to explore and consider careers in the construction industry.

Date:   Thursday, May 11, 2023 – 9AM – 2PM

Cost:   FREE & Lunch is provided

Location:   NW WA Fairgrounds 1775 Front St. Lynden, WA

Eligibility:   High School Juniors & Seniors

The construction industry employs more than 286,600 people in Washington State. Today’s construction industry offers the future workforce a vast array of career pathways that provide high wages and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Workstations Featured:

Outdoor Heavy Equipment
Students are provided with the opportunity to operate rigs, tools and equipment under the guidance of operators and apprentices.

Indoor Hands-On Construction Activities
Students can try their hand at activities such as laying mortar on brick, survey map reading, or operating a crane simulator. They will be introduced to local education programs, industry associations, apprenticeship training programs, etc. These organizations offer short sessions about their programs and support services.
